Authors that I really think are swell

Skipp and Spector - Amazing horror authors. Very visceral, grinding stuff. Way keen. 'The Scream' is my favorite from them. Good 'Rock band from Hell' fare...

John Sanford - Author of the "Prey" series. Easily one of my favorite detective characters, Lucas Davenport. Amazing detective...he just has really shitty luck with women...

Robert Aspirin - I really like and own the entire Myth series. He creates really strange, likeable characters.

Harry Harrison - The Stainless Steel Rat is my hero. Jim DiGriz for president!

Tom Sharpe - The Throwback is the funniest damn book I've EVER read in my entire life. It's just all kinds of wrong...It's easily one of my favorite books. I haven't read anything else by him, but this book is enough to make me want to hunt down everything the man has ever written. It's that good. Even after repeated readings, it still makes milk come out my nose...

Robert Anton Wilson's "Illuminatus Trilogy" was quite good. He's a pretty odd bird. FNORD. I need to read Shroedinger's Cat...

Carl Hiassen - Everything this man writes is hysterical. I've got most of his books. Tanith Lee - One of the most lyrical writers I've ever come across. The 'Tales of the Flat Earth' series is AMAZING. It was so beautifully and poetically written.

Laurell K. Hamilton - Good, enjoyable supernatural writer. I'm quickly trying to snap up all the stuff she's done.

Orson Scott Card - The Ender's Game series is phenomenal. His Alvin Maker series was wonderful as well. Intense, thought provoking sci-fi. It's really too damn bad that he's a homophobic sociopathic asshole.

Terry Pratchett - Love the Discworld novels and Good Omens

Mark Rodgers of 'Samurai Cat' fame. Extremely talented writer. Hystercially funny stuff. He's the only person I've come into contact with that saw the apparition that was "The Magic Christmas Tree", the film that destroyed my youth.

Nancy Collins - Who couldn't fall in love with Sonja Blue?

William Gibson - He's been called the 'founding father' of cyberpunk

Stephen Brust - Good Fantansy.

Gregory MacDonald - Author of the "Fletch" series.

Douglas Adams - Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, etc. Need I say more?

Fritz Lieber - Yay Fahfrd and Grey Mouser!

My mom turned me on to mystery writer Mary Higgins Clark

I've heard wonderful things about Ayn Rand. I hope to find time to read Atlas Shrugged. I figure that's a good one to start with...

I also enjoy the works of Horror writers Robert Block, Ramsey Campbell, Ray Bradbury

More useless information...

Robert Heinlein - I just started reading Heinlein a month or two ago, and I'm completely fascinated and entranced by his reality. It'd be really nice if people were that rational and even tempered all the time. It's too damn bad that this is just not the case.

Poppy Z. Brite - Very homoerotic vamp material which is wonderfully written. Also the author of quite possibly the most disturbing fucking book I've ever read, Exquisite Corpse. Man...it was like watching a car wreck. I just couldn't put the damn thing down, and I felt soiled afterwards.
