"Have
you ever wanted something so badly that it possessed your body and your soul
through the night and through the day?
Until
you finally get it...and then you realize, that it wasn't what you wanted
after all.
And then those selfsame, sickly little thoughts now go and attach themselves
to something, or somebody new.
And the whole goddamn thing starts all over again."

Over the last four years, I've gone through a bunch of life changes. I've been living in Washington DC since about August-ish of 2003. I never really thought of myself as a city girl, but I'm really enjoying the city life. It'd be nice if the Big Gay Wife stopped moving me around so much. Being carless, having the metro around really helps. I'm really starting to become a bus/subway whore. I'm currently working for an ISP downtown, finishing my novel (after 6 years), and doing my best to figure out how to squeeze more time in a day.
BIg Gay Wife Explained: (For those of you who don't already know about this) - He's essentially this enormous gay skinhead that I've known since I was 16. We've been friends for too goddamned long, and since we were getting old and still single, we decided that - at some point - if we were still single by a certain age that we'd get married for the tax breaks. At this point, he's got a boyfriend, but we still act like we're married so he's now the Big Gay Wife and I'm his Heterosexual Mountain Bride. I'm a fag hag from WAY back, and we've figured that this is the next natural progression in the cycle of 'a fag and his hag'. So, essentially, I now have a Big Gay Wife and a Big Gay Husband.
I was never big on stuffing myself into a particular pidgeonhole, but if I had to pick one, I guess you could say that Punk comes pretty close to the way I like to live/think/believe. In the 80's I was one of those waifs outside the Fair Oaks movie theatre every weekend, waiting for Rocky Horror Picture Show to explode across the screen in all it's glory. I did the ripped fishnets, ripped jean/military shorts and ripped shirt thing for years.
My youth and innocence blasted away by RHPS, I worked for various retail organizations doing ghastly things for teeny sums of cash until I happened upon the wonderful world of computers. This was brought about by mom's constant prodding of "Computers are the wave of the future...you really should learn how to operate them." "Yeah, right" I thought back then. If I had only known...
After finally getting a reputable job at the keenest company in the world, InterCon in Herndon, Virgina, I thought I'd stay with them until they got bought out or they fired me. Well, they got bought out... about 4 years after I started, and before I knew it, I was back on the streets. It was THE BEST job I ever had. I still have the custom tailored leather jacket that the owner of the company bought for all the employees. To make a VERY long story short, after ending a stint in hell at a videoconferencing company in Virginia that thought FAR too much of itself, and working for an ISP in Maryland that laid me off back in June 2003, I'm now working in Georgetown for another ISP.
I love motorcycles. I'm a cruiser/touring bike kinda gal. I can't deal with crotchrockets. Leaning over that far forward kills the experience of the ride, in my opinion. My dream bike is a circa 1940 Harley Davidson Knucklehead.
Of course there's also a great deal to be said for the 1950's Panhead as well. In the interest of keeping my kidneys where they're currently located in my body, I want to get one of the newer Harleys for daily use. Also, the newer bikes are easier to find parts for. I'm a big gearhead wannabe. I'm also a throwback...
I used to have a fairly varied and 'alternative' dress style, but since last May have been wearing nothing but white for spiritual reasons. I will be in white until May 14th, 2005.
I love industrial music (german being my favorite). I also enjoy listening to '30's and '40's jazz, big band, Mozart, Bach, Beethoven (and others of their ilk).
I compose music, write fiction, sing, serve spirit, write poetry, bitch and moan, read too damn much, research Serial Killers and violent crimes in my spare time, watch movies, celebrate HALLOWEEN almost every day of the year, and I have been known to dance at stripclubs for the hell of it from time to time - although now that I'm coming up on 40 this year, I no longer really have the desire to 'get nekkid' in front of a group of strange men waving dollar bills and making lewd gestures in front of me. That, and the old grey mare just ain't what she used to be.
There are a couple of fairly old pictures of me that I have available, but I'm redoing that section of the site. It'll be back up soon.
For no real logical reason, I decided to make available the results of the personality tests that I've taken.
According to the 1500 Point Purity Test, I'm 48.7% sexually pure/51.3% sexually corrupt.
I lost a close personal friend over Memorial Day Weekend '98. Here's his rememberance page. Death walks through life, taking indiscriminately, but for the rest of us, life goes on. I shall never forget you, Bear.
