Bob and Dave's Spooky House The Spooky House is at the Valley Indoor Swap Meet in Woodland Hills, CA. In the San Fernando Valley north of L.A.

GYRO's 3D Fear Factory (Formerly GYRO's World of Terror) is an organization that has several locations in California including Cupertino, Sacramento and San Fransisco.

LOUISIANA

House of Shock - This site claims that the House of Shock is Louisiana's most terrifying haunted house. Next time I'm down there, I'm gonna check it out...

OHIO

Legion of Terror Who says Cleveland is boring?

"The Legion of Terror is comprised of the area's most gifted haunted house actors, makeup artists, and set designers. Our goal is to create the most frightening and entertaining haunted house environment imaginable. The Legion has been terrorizing Northeast Ohio since 1985, first at Bloodview Hts. Haunted House, then at the Underworld at Wildwood, and now at Hinckley's Haunted Barn at Buzzard Cove."

USS Nightmare - Haunted Riverboat The Ohio River's only Floating Haunted Riverboat. Not a bad idea, really. Sounds most interesting.

PENNSYLVANIA

The MacCabre Family fiendishly invites you to a Gothic Halloween tour of their home, Castle Blood. Come meet the "interesting" denizens of the castle in all their dark, morbid forms, without all the chainsaws and ax murderers.

TEXAS

The folks at PHOBIA, call themselves Houston's Darkest Haunted House.

"Using FEAR as a military asset, Pentagon Black Budget Funding allowed Darke, child prodigy and pioneer researcher, to investigate phobic cause and reactions throughout the Vietnam War. After the war, federal funds were deleted from the budget and all experimental results and assets were released to Darke , who seized the Institute intact. Darke no longer had any restraints and began using his own money to expand his demented work. Those wishing to see Darke's ghastly experiments should visit the Institute during the weekends in September and nightly in October, but beware, he is always looking for new test subjects. "

Nightmare Factory these guys appear to put on one hell of a show. I'd love to see what they can do with 6000 square feet to work with...They're located in Austin, TX.

KENTUCKY

The Baxter Avenue Morgue

This sounds like it might be an actual morgue. The backstory presented on their website, which is really nice, btw, is creepy enough. I'd like to get out there and check it out sometime.

I eagerly look forward to the day when I pull down millions of dollars and can swoop around the country during the Halloween season and check every single one of these places out...be assured that once I do, the reviews will be up here for everybody to check out.

DEFUNCT HAUNTED HOUSES

Britannia Manor '94 - Descent Into Darkness "What is Britannia Manor? It's a no-holds-barred full-contact haunted house. It's tough to get in, and tougher to get out. It's also probably not going to be held again anytime soon due to a change of venue, but the photos from days of old were enough to make me want to link it to the page.

House of Cruelty This is one house closing that I WEEP over...It closed a while ago, apparently, but I never got out to it. I can only imagine what it would've been like. *sigh* If you know what this group of people are currently up to, I'd LOVE to press them for info and give them space on this site...that and I'd love to catch them next Halloween if possible. Alas, it appears that the site is down as well. I'm going to leave this listing here in memorium for this great house.

* What I call the "boo" factor is scenes or things that make you jump out of your skin, or otherwise gasp out just because somebody made a quick motion towards you or grabbed you...you know ...BOO! Well, anyways, that's what it is...

Haunted House Listing

I've rearranged this section because the Haunted Houses were getting a bit too numerous to keep on the original page. I'll keep updating this throughout the year, so if you know of any haunted houses that

could be added to this list, or if you're a promoter, and you'd like me to add your house, just send me email and let me know. I've also taken out the "boo factor" sites, and left only the ones that could possibly be really frightening or psychologically disturbing in some way. My mother would be so proud...
