it'll only cause trouble 
focus on life 
and the tasks at hand 

But again came the touch 
the reaching 
the wanting 
to communicate 
to feel 
to share 
and the fire leapt to life 

hope against hope 
thinking "It's nothing. 
Just somebody 
to pass the time 
to share some thoughts 
and then they'll be gone 
like all the others" 

Discussion gets heated 
opinions are shared 
similarities compared 
and I've found
another soulmate 
just like that 

Our hearts came together 
in the strangest of ways 
situation's confusing 
but the path became clear 
and the flame began to roar 
drowning out all dissension 
burning away doubt and fear 
bringing life, and love 
and peace 

The touch makes me quicken 
my heart skips a beat 
slowly the dance takes over 
and for a time 
I'm indescribably happy 

The dance becomes frenzied 
time itself, stands still 
as we look into each other 
and see everything 
we hide from the world 
and we share it together 

Sleep overcomes us 
and once again, 
I dread the waking 
knowing that it's all 
just a dream 
a spectacular fantasy 
conjured by the need in my soul 

And so, it appears 
in the morning 
when the dust settles 
he's actually still there 
lying beside me 
gazing at me 
and all at once 
I know
he's real 
and he's never leaving 

I never felt better...
