I sit and stew angrily 
Feeling denied 
And forgotten 

Just another day 

And again I have assumed 
That something will be 
Other than it is 

Whether it be a meeting
Dinner with friends 
Work conditions 
Or just sitting at home 

I have this preconceived notion 
Of how I think 
Things should fall Into place 
And they never fall 
The way I expect them to 

Because I fail 

I fail to remember 
That life is out of control 
Out of my hands 
As the tears spill into my hands 

Why am I so sensitive about this? 
I could just walk away 
From all this spent emotion 
Frittered away on useless anger 
And frustration 

It seems like hours go by 
And I'm racked with pain and anguish 
How dramatic it all is 
For something so small and insignificant 

Slowly the edge 
Bleeds away 
After the grieving 
Of my loss of control 
And I am back in control of me 

At least 
Until the next time...

it never seems to end
