It's empty
and painful
as I cry inside
showing no emotion
to the outside world

I can't share
my pain
my hurt
and I close myself 
up inside
to undo the damage
that's occurred

 Things feel broken
and pieces are missing
lying about
scattered around
and putting them
back together
takes time

 Leaving me 
to wonder
why love always
grows weaker
for them
as I sit here 
bleeding 
and broken

 It's never enough
and after a while
it dies out
and all that's left
is the shell of pretense
the 'act' of caring
so that nobody
gets hurt

 And I'm left behind
like an empty container
as they continue
the cycle
easily moving on
with someone else
while I pine
for what was
and what might have been

 I want to think 
that there's someone
out there
that will want me enough
to be with me
to be my mate
and stay with me

 instead of constantly being used
as a 'safe' intimacy
that takes their pain
and calms their soul
so they can go off
and be with 
the rest of the world

 Everybody's friend
great for physical contact
but, as to actual commitment
it's laughable
after all
I'm always around
and always in need 
of intimate contact

 And I'm a 'freak'
and a fucking 'novelty fuck'
that no-one
could possibly ever
want to spend 
the rest of 
their lives with

 FUCK THEM ALL

 I'm done with it.
