I'se a poet and didn't know it.	Fear	1996 - 2002

I sit in a room
colored in fear and doubt
clutching my heart closely
so that nobody can tread upon it
so that nobody sees
how I weep inside
going mad with the anguish
that loneliness brings

Slowly I begin to rock
swaying back and forth
to some unheard rhythm
filling my head
with hopes and dreams
a buzzing of sorts
that makes me forget
that I should fear

First the contact
then the loneliness that comes
when we realize
that we are not
as we would like each other to be
and go our separate ways
into the bleak future

Usually bitter enemies,
sometimes friends

Slowly we pick up
the pieces of our hearts
shattered on the floor
not through anger,
but through neccessity
and begin to search again

Would that I could forever
give up the search
To be complete in myself
so that I would never need
the warmth of another

Maybe then
it wouldn't feel
so empty
and lonely

Someday
I will have the strength
and will
to stand alone
and face the future
joined hand in hand with fate
instead of love

today is not that day...
