Running and jumping
not pacing myself
trying too hard
to keep up with the job
and the stress

Taking a break
to go cry in the bathroom
the tears begin rolling
and I say to myself
what's it all for?

A possible future security
and wealth
steady income
and assurance
that I'm doing my job
and I'm "working with the team"

Once I lose sight
of the life that surrounds me
my thoughts become restless
unsteady and fearful
I tend to forget
all the people that love me
the person I am
becomes mired
in regret and anguish

I am buried in work
slaving for duty
doing my best
to stay ahead of the pack
as it slowly kills me

I am lost
in an endless cycle
of repetition and pointlessness
and life becomes nothing
but pain and health problems
