I can feel my thoughts 
changing and moving 
to negative 
all I can see 
is the end 
and collapse 

Why do I focus 
on the negative aspect 
slamming around my subconsious 
until I can see only black 

I find a unique one 
somebody that loves me 
somebody that I 
could love back 
but they're gone 

Always thinking about me 
but never around me for long 
balancing plates of relationships 
as they spin faster and faster 

I burn with the need 
to have him near 
but the future 
just brings the eternal appointment 
and the inevitability of time 
cut short yet again by problems 

The stolen moment 
the heated glance 
the elation of now 
and then it's gone 
away from me 

funny 
but that's all I see now 

Empty words 
on a computer screen 
full of meaning 
full of his soul 
killed by the knowledge 
that that's all there can be 
that and moments of glory 
and it's not enough 

Would that I could 
push these thoughts 
far from my mind 
and just live for the moment 
savoring our time 

He's the one 
but the time isn't right 
And I fear 
that I can't continue 
with somebody's other 
waiting to pick up 
the stolen moments 
as they drop from her fingers 
like scraps for a dog
