I am alone
because I won't
let anybody in
to take my pain
away from me
to help me
through life

I have a great love
and many friends that care
and want to help so desperately
and still I am alone
because I push them away
and cry quietly
behind closed doors inside my head

I grieve
because I give up
too easily
too fucking lazy
to finish the race
to lay down a pace
that I can keep up with

I am mired
in my own inability
to proact
instead of react
to everything
that life throws my way

I can't finish
anything I start
I have talent
many talents
that I piss away
as I sit here
scared
in my little fucking corner of the world
too shy to reach out
and show myself
that I can succeed

Instead,
I hide behind a webpage
a facade
and an empty face
showing nothing to the world
for fear that it will hurt me

So here I sit
in all my pathetic glory
pounding out
yet another stupid fucking poem
about my woes
and my hurt
for all to see
like a bruise
to be poked and jabbed at
and it DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE

I still HURT
I still BLEED
AND IT DOESN'T EVER FUCKING GO AWAY
