Love is a virus
infecting the soul
tasting your pain
and eating it whole

Love has no vaccine
no common cure
it destroys the wicked
entraps the pure

Killing with kindness
a fiery death
it sucks out your life
takes all your breath

Spiralling downward
there's no escape
from obsession and jealousy
fear and hate

Lay down with dogs
and you'll get fleas
tear apart
those memories

I never knew
just what I would find
until I left my love behind

It comes to you slowly
luring you in
bringing to surface
the beast from within

Deceit and betrayal
all part of the game
it's something we're taught
and how we behave

Killing your brothers
for one moment of joy
quickly forgotten
cast aside like a toy

The dance becomes deadly
and everything hurts
the stakes become higher
and soon you will burn

Lay down with dogs
and you'll get fleas
tear apart
those memories
I never knew
just what I would find
until I left my love behind
to rot...
and bleed...

Too soon all is lost
for a love much too strong
every action you take
seems to be wrong

The fire inside you
sears to the core
how much can you take
and still you seek more

Love consumes all
in it's fiery grip
tearing your soul up
it strikes out as a whip

Lashing your feelings
and all that you are
trampling hope
and ripping your heart

'till you're gone...
