During times of strife
you accuse
and belittle
striking out
at that nameless, generic visage
you feel so victimized by

If you cut us, we bleed
just like you
We have a heart
and feelings
that you wound
with your actions
and your venom

We fear
that which we
do not understand
and so the rhythm goes

You kill us in your mind 
every time you imprison
rape, demean and violate
those who remind you
of those who have hurt you

And conveniently,
they all just happen
to appear somewhat
like us

Who among you
is without blood on your hands?
NOT A ONE, we say
we SCREAM
as you butcher, kill
and denegrate

We may not
have the same beliefs
thoughts
or ideas that you do
but this seems to be enough
for you to want to destroy us

Haven't you learned yet?
Can't you OPEN
your fucking EYES
and SEE that
this is the same pattern
repeating through time

a deadly dance
that only ends in misery
and regret

None of the concentration camps
the bombing and fields of mines
the rapes and the murders
ever make it go away

They never change anything
because nobody pays attention
little idiots
certain of their righteousness
condemning those around them
to death or worse

All because of what originates
as a little discomfort

You would destroy the world
if you felt that it assuage
the pain and the fear that you feel
when will you learn 
that it's the fanatic to blame
and not the religion
the people
the lifestyle
that causes such an uproar

If people could just
fucking let it GO
all this nasty business
would finally end.
